OMG it seems if it was a mistake they would have at least issued a statement. Even my shitty local newspapers issue notices when they have made a mistake.

Retraction And Apology

An early online report from the scene at the December 14 shootings at Sandy Hook Elementary School quoted a woman who identified herself to our reporter as the principal of the school. The woman was not the school's principal, Dawn Hochsprung, who was killed in the Friday morning attack. The quote was removed from subsequent online versions of the story, but the original story did remain in our online archive for three days before being deleted.

We apologize for whatever confusion this may have caused our readers and for any pain or anguish it may have cause the Hochsprung family.

Send the newspaper the link to the screencap and see if they will retract it...or correct it.

I know. But, I wouldn't have believed any excuse they gave anyway, at this point. When you take a statement you ask for the person's name. I once worked at a newspaper. That's how it works.

Okay, Mr/Ms investigative reporter, how about locating the mystery woman who identified herself as the principal and inquiring as to why she would do such a thing?

If it happened as reported, one might consider that she was part of it, no?

Oh I quite agree - who the freak would identify themselves as the school principal during the time of a mass shooting. TPTB did not have their story straight. The retraction means that someone was impersonating the school principle for some reason.

So a parent or town person claimed to be the principal after the most horrible tragedy in the town's history and went on the record as saying so? Right...cause that makes sense.

It's apparent that they are just assuming it was not her because the official story says she was one of the first murdered.

Obviously, it is a giant red flag.

They should have left the story up and put the retraction/correction on that page. Instead, they pulled the entire story.

If I was one of the principles daughters I would find that reporter and track down who called.....if this whole situation was legit wouldn't they wanna prosecute the caller considering the want to prosecute false information on facebook.

What do you think happened? The principal did or did not give the statement? Perhaps she did and then was killed thereafter - but why would a principal pick up a phone and call or respond to a reporter during a shooting event? If it was after, then the principal was never killed?

It's just bullshit and most of us know it. The principal was probably killed after the fact because she saw too much...but oops, she already alerted the local news as to what was going on.

Two minutes is just not enough time for one guy to have done all this killing in the office, a classroom, and then another classroom where he allegedly tried to get to children hiding in a closet.
