There is a lot of confusion regarding the 2nd amendment from both sides on these forums....

The right to bear arms is fundamental. The right to bear arms is NOT granted by the 2nd amendment. The Bill of Rights grants NO rights, the Bill of rights simply lists and reasserts certain rights of the people which had been commonly violated in the past by government - it is merely a reiteration, not a granting. Rights do not come from government, they come from your creator. Just as the Bill of Rights does not secure or grant the right to bear arms, the 2nd amendment and your right to bear arms cannot be taken away through a law or an amendment. It is inalienable. It is your birthright.

Please understand and adopt this.

If a child doesn't do his homework and clean up his room when he's supposed too, his right to watch TV for 2 hours a night is suspended until the matter is resolved. This scenario by pure definition is called a privilege NOT a Right.

The 2nd Amendment is a Natural, Absolute, God Given Right. It is not a privilege granted by Government! If it were a Right granted BY Government than by default, they have they ability to take it away. Hence, the definition of a privilege. This is the genius of the Founders when they talked about Rights in the Declaration of Independence.

This is why our Rights recognized in the first 10 Amendments (Preamble - Bill of Rights) are very important. They come from God folks. Not man or any Government. So, therefore man does not have the authority to take them away.
