I gotta agree with you on this deeply in denial, unless she thought she needed a weapon to protect herself against her own child however, no matter how you look at it, seriously fcked up I have an inlaw who has a serious personality disorder. He recently said he wants to learn how to use a weapon. His immediately family are putting their foot down and saying no way |

Quoting: Dixie Normous In this case it IS not what you (the one to be committeed against your free will) think; it is what is best (in hopes of preventing you to harm others) and hope they are correct. If they erred in his detainment; the courts would need to adjudicate that matter. IMHO Last Edited by CE1 on 12/18/2012 06:11 PM |

Quoting: Dixie Normous Someone heavily under the influence of strong drugs could think almost anything and not realize that their thoughts are not normal reactions and that actions they may take are not justified. Or maybe they do realize it but just don't care anymore? As for me---if I thought I were normal, I would keep my mouth shut and go along with it and then convince the shrinks that there was nothing wrong with me. I have no problem with people owning guns but if I ever purchased a gun, I would keep that thing under lock and key where only myself and the misses can get it. Especially if my son had angry issues and didnt know how to deal with them. |

Hellena Handbasket User ID: 1439176 United States 12/18/2012 08:13 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Some people would off themself before being committed to the mental hospital. That would work. I watched a Snapped episode where the wife kills the husband because she was off her meds and got crazy. He had her committed for awhile. She got out and he took her on a vacation. They went on a hunting trip in Canada. She shot him telling everybody he looked like bear. Later, it was revealed that she was murderously mad at him for committing her and she couldn't get over it. So, yah. I could see the kid shooting the MOTHER. But... not those kids. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 30046812 United States 12/18/2012 08:41 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | The gunman who slaughtered 20 children and six adults at a Connecticut elementary school may have snapped because his mother was planning to commit him to a psychiatric facility, according to a lifelong resident of the area who was familiar with the killer’s family and several of the victims’ families. Quoting: Dixie Normous Adam Lanza, 20, targeted Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown after killing his mother early Friday because he believed she loved the school “more than she loved him,” said Joshua Flashman, 25, who grew up not far from where the shooting took place. Flashman, a U.S. Marine, is the son of a pastor at an area church where many of the victims' families worship. “From what I've been told, Adam was aware of her petitioning the court for conservatorship and (her) plans to have him committed," Flashman told FoxNews.com. "Adam was apparently very upset about this. He thought she just wanted to send him away. From what I understand, he was really, really angry. I think this could have been it, what set him off.” [link to www.foxnews.com] My Mom was killed by my brother. She thought it would make him snap if she tried to have him commited. She didn't and was shot in the head anyway. He had also planned on killing many others including me. |
