Gun prohibition vs. Drug prohibition

It may not be a question of whether prohibition works or does not work. It may be the opinion that gun possession is a protected constitutional right, whereas drug possession is not. Could be.

Only in modern times has someone's right to ingest what they chose been called into question. This is a very modern prohibition. Changes were made to the law of the land to make drugs illegal. Why can's similar changes be made to the laws about guns. You realize your right to bear arms was an ADDITION to the constitution, as was civil rights.

Why ask logical questions about an illogical society?

In strictly legal terms whether something was added to the constitution or was original is irrelevant. It is a right. The citizens have the option to add a right to ingest drugs if they so choose to make the effort. As of this moment the citizens have not done so.

It is also YOUR right to possess guns.

No it's not, the DEA took away my right to own a gun or ammo when I became a medical marijuanna patient, in complete compliance with my state's law.

But drunk billy bob gets to keep his.

So a moral right doesn't matter, only a legal right? So let's just change the constituion (alcohol prohibition did just that) to remove that 'gun right' and see what crap you spew then.

It obviously did not work with alcohol, and obviously does not work with marijuana.

all it does it create a bunch of victimless criminals out of users and violent criminals out of black market distributers/producers.

Think of all the populace except the criminal element being disarmed. think of that 1000 $ ar15 becoming worth arouth 10 thousand think of the people who would get killed just to traffic these blackmarket guns. think of the criminals would would rise to power profiteering on this new arms market.

prohibition does not work, not for guns, or marijuana.
