Interactive novel
I had this idea a couple years ago, but never found a comunity as creative as GLP, so I'll experience it here.
The idea is simple. I'll write a novell, integrating suggestions of you guys, try to make a coherent story from suggestions that are fit. Anyone is free to join and suggest and I'll try my best to make it good lecture.
So, lets get started? First, to start, a few subjects(suggestions only) of what the story will be about:
- A person getting into occultism underworld, experiencing all kind of stuff in there
- A regular person that finds him/herself involved in an international conspiracy
- A person telling his/her story from when working for a government hiding something from public
- A person that accidentally drops in a paralel world(dimension), where things are not like ours.
- A magician apprentice, screwing things up and get involved in things beyond his/her knowledge
- A person, struggling to live in some place where life is not easy(war, oppressive government)

So, you can pick one of those or suggest your own, I'll write about it, and we are going to give the directions to the story. Who's gonna like to participate?

Re: Interactive novel
Somebody who leads a normal-appearing life on the outside but at night goes to sleep and leads a completely alternate life in dreamworld complete with another family and an alien world, but at times the worlds intersect; meets a man in dreamworld who later on becomes her husband in the real world. That's my story!

Re: Interactive novel
Well, so, I'll start it up with something that I think will be a great plot:

Chapter 1: Getting started
I lived my whole life in the dark. Not a physical dark, a blindfold for the soul. Once I heard a phrase that seems to fit fine in my crazy, ubelivable story:
There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio,
Than are dreamt of in your philosophy.

Shakespeare, Hamlet Act 1, scene 5, 159–167. Wise fellow was this one. I have to agree 100% about this. Life is a secret, not life in general, I mean your life is a secret. A well guarded secret. You'll understand me as we move forward with this.
It all started in the 9th grade. A cold winter that year, chilling cold. Like almost all average teenage student, I was not the most popular, the best athlete or best graded, average, in all means. Being like this keep you away from some troubles that this time of life brings. Not a bed of roses, but tolerable. As an average teenager, I had a best friend, Chad. Chad was a skinny dark haired boy, with a big smile, beautyfull smile, despite the teeth gap. Chad and I were always togheter, we liked the same things, doing the same things, you know what I mean, inseparable friends.
It was a monday, when Mrs. Huffbean, entered the class sided by a lady, with glasses that would put hubble to the shame:
- Okay kids, quiet down! - She yelled
The class was at the principle of a riot, because Dr. Harrington, our physics teacher, didn't show up.
- This is miss Lowenstein, she will be replacing Dr. Harrington for the rest of the year. He had some private matter to take care of and probably will not come back.
That was really odd. Dr. Harrington was a very punctual, dedicated teacher, he had an MBA in physics, a brilliant thou a little distant man, fascinated by physics. A very good man indeed. His sudden absence was interpreted by us, as he was sick of us, we were not the best class in the world, I have to admit. But leaving without notice in the middle of the year, that was really not his attitude.
- At least she has boobs - Chad whispered to me.
- Well, yeah, not a super model, but small boobs are better than no boobs at all - I whispered back.
There was a mumbling in the class when Mrs. Huffbean started talk again:
- Quiet down, I said already! I hope you give miss Lowenstein the same respect and kind treatment you use to give to Dr. Harrington!
She turn to miss Lowenstein and said in a very authoritarian way:
- The class is yours, proceed.
She sat down, opened her student list and said:
- Answer your names please.
Her voice was hoarse and in low, almost like a man. Chad just looked at me with eyed like saying: - Gosh!
She started to call students names and getting replied with shy answers, we didn't knew her, that's natural I guess.
That was a regular class, she basically started from where Dr. Harrington left. But his absence was bothering me a little bit.
When the school was finished, Chad and I were heading to the bus. The corridors, crowded with kids being kids, you know what I mean. But that day, it was a little different. I started to notice that some kids stare at me. Not the ones that were right beside or in front of me, but the ones in the back, those you don't pay attention to. They looked away when they notice I noticed them. I thought that was ok, don't know why, but I should have taken more attention to it, I know it now.
Chad punched me in the arm and said:
- So, slacker, lets go swim in the pool this afternoon?
- Yeah, why not.
The pool was heated, there were girls in bikinis, it was a good way to spend the afternoon.
- Great - said Chad - I'll ask my mom to take us there. Pick you up about 3pm, deal?
- Deal!
At this point we were already in the school's front door, and there was my brother Tony to take me home. Tony was almost 20, never took any job, and never took anything seriously, he was the real slacker, not me.
- C'mon man, its freezing! - Tony screamed to me.
I hurried up to the car, the heater was broken and it was indeed freezing.
There were good 10 miles from school to home. I used to play from inside the car that my hand was a giant blade and I could cut things with it, dumb distraction, but better than Tony's new age music. How I hated that Indian-like kind of song. Annoying as hell, I was and still am, rock and roll type of guy. I was cutting things with my imaginary blade, when I noticed people in the street and other cars, they were looking at me too, like the kids in the school. You may think that this is normal. The thing is, the way they looked at me. Like I was an alien wearing a Santa's hat, eating worms while singing "Somewhere over the rainbow". They looked at me like I was something strange, something they never saw in their lifes, in a way that I can only describe as if I was something unique for them.
At home, that front door with bad hinges, creaked as I opened it.
- Mom, I'm home!
- Okay honey, I'm in the kitchen!
She was there indeed. Covered with a black smelly goo, laying down in the floor trying to fix the sink's pipes.
- Mom, I going to the pool with Chad today, his mom is gonna pick me up here at 3, is it ok?
- Sure honey! Have fun!
She didn't even took his head from inside that cabinet, that at this point was more like a sewer entrance by the smell. I heard the door creak again, it was Tony, mumbling that new age songs. He never gets tired of it.
I went upstairs to my bedroom and for no reason, I begin to remember the peoples faces, those that were looking at me. I could clearly see all them faces. There was this little girl that moved her lips when staring at me. I could swear she said my name as I read her lips. "John" I could read her lips perfectly.
- Nah, she must have said anything, even yawned - I thought - Afterall, I don't know her, and she don't know me, how could she possibly know my name?
I didn't mind about that and got back to my Death star ship model. That thing is mind-boggling hard to assmeble. It cost the money of the whole summer work, but after assembled would look very nice!
But I got back thinking of that little girl apparently saying my name.

(to be continued...)
