When government debts rise faster than the economic output of the people (not including government workers), which has been the case especially post-2007, this warns that the state is interfering with the economy just as communism failed forcing a situation of rising taxes that causes economic growth to decline rapidly until there is a wholesale cascade failure. The debt must be rolled over at regular intervals and new debt is simply issued to pay interest on what just expired. We are plunging into a Sovereign Debt Crisis beyond all belief.

No one here has inferred this - this problem is much larger than Omaba. The FED is the main issue + ignorant politicians who care more about thier seat of influence and the citizens who vote for the same lame loosers year after year.

VI. CONCLUSION

A major hallmark of SIFIs is their activity in financial derivatives markets. The analysis of this paper has one clear message. The global derivatives markets in the post Lehman period, despite considerable compression of bilateral positions, are unstable and they can bring about catastrophic failure. Quite simply, a threat of failure to any of the SIFIs is an immediate threat to the others. The network topology where the very high percentage of exposures is concentrated among a few highly interconnected banks implies that they will stand and fall together. This topological fragility of the derivatives markets as risk sharing institutions has an implicit moral hazard problem that undermines their social usefulness. The empirically calibrated network for derivatives liabilities manifests a highly clustered core- periphery structure and extreme form of TITF as seen in Figures 5.a- 5.f. The implied socialized losses are very large (to the tune of US$350 billion) and the liabilities arising from extant derivatives network structures cannot be supported by the existing capital base. The good news is that the highly clustered network structure permits targeted management of systemic risk. One of the main contributions of the paper is to use network analysis to design a set of surcharges that will enable the SIFIs in the derivatives markets to internalize the costs imposed on other FIs and also the tax payer by their failure.

FBI Should Investigate Bankers, Not Protesters

It shouldn't shock anyone anymore to say that the United States is now a police state, or that walking on a sidewalk in New York City while protesting can end up with your head in between a cop's knee and a sidewalk, or that the I in FBI stands for Intimidation rather than Investigation. Hoping that President Obama will suddenly start caring about the rights of protesters in the United States or appoint a new Attorney General that will prioritize the protection of the First Amendment is naÔve and silly. But what we should do is continue to build our own evidence locker against the bankers, continue to announce their crimes to all who would hear, and keep risking arrest to get the truth out. I'll make a guess as a GLP Anon Tard. By 2025 the bulk of baby boomers will have retired. Current estimates are that $100 trillion in promises to social security, medicare and medicaid have been made to these retirees.

That is 12 years from now. As they retire they will also liquidate assets held and downsize their standard of living, as all retirees do. We don't have $100 trillion or even the credit potential without destroying the dollar completely.

I give it all a decade tops before they do blow the dollar out of any value. They will print and print to meet these promises, trying to keep their voting constituents happy, most of whom do not understand the debasement of their money in the process.

The problem is the bets that are placed on/against the repayment of this printed script (CDS's/CDO's). They found out that the debt can't be repudiated if they insure it against its repayment because they have to print up more to honor the insurance (there may be a $50 bet on $1 not being repaid) when it's not repaid (inflation).

Its called "balance sheet illusions" as the bets (50 to 1) are counted as assets on financial institutions balance sheets !
