Your son's girlfriend, who is the mother of the grandson,
is upset.

I bet she is.
Your problem here, is your son.
He got a girl pregnant, and did he pay for the medical
and child support?
Is he paying?
Did he offer to marry her?

Unless your son marries the girlfriend, you have no
legal rights at all in the situation, and he may not
have either depending on what state you live in.

You sound like a somewhat less than well educated
manipulator to me, as a gramma.

You've raised an irresponsible son.

The son of this woman you are defaming on GLP is
probably better off without you contributing to the
irresponsibility of her son.

Where is your son's father? Lots of information not
supplied here. And no way should you be 'buddies'
with this small child your son is responsible for.
That makes you as irresponsible as your son.

People like you make my head hurt.

The child's well being should be the #1 priority here... not whether the father or mother are married. The kid should come FIRST! He should NOT be witnessing his mother's violent outbursts! He has to be protected from her. Thank goodness he has a grandma who loves and cares about him.

Thank you. My son and our family have been there during the pregnancy and in the GS's life for 4 years. My son is very close to his boy and spends lots of time with him. Him providing for his son has never been an issue. Our GS loves his Grandma and his "papa" (my husband) and loves to spend time with us. My son is living here with us right now. He is between jobs (works in Hazmat)

I was the one who brought my GS and his mom home from the hospital to their apt when she was released from the hospital 4 years ago. My son was diagnosed with BiPolar as a teen and is on medication. It has not been easy. I think mom has BiPolar too, because of her mood swings, except she is not diagnosed or on meds (maybe on drugs though, I don't know?)

Surprisingly, through all this, GS is a pretty well adjusted loving and social little boy BUT I know this is affecting him because of some of the things has has said to me.

My sons dad was an alcoholic, I left him and we divorced when my son was 5 months old. His dad died about 10 years ago. My sons have been raised my 2nd husband, we've been married 23 years.
