Why isn't my previous comments posted on here? I dont see them. Anyways, I had said that thanks to this article, it makes me proud to be a GLP member opposed to the Lunatic Conspiracy site, because I could never refer anyone to that site without sounding like a crazy lady. Instead, I'm only mildy crazy being on GLP.

I really have to agree, that this happens much more than we all would like to think. This all reminds me off the old adage "Knowledge is power". When you think about it...what it all comes down to...beyond money and all its trappings....is that knowledge is the true power that lies underneath. Look at these individual's actions...look at how they deliberately and blatantly try to disenfranchise people, by filling their minds with wrongful information.

Why would these individuals go out of their way,to dispense with such fallacious facts? Why would the T.P.T.B. go to such extremes, for instance actually paying individuals such as this, to spread deceitful lies? The only possible answer that I can come up with, is that T.P.T.B. simply don't want the average person to learn of the truth which lies within the truth.

Those whom hold the strings, do not want the everyday person to discover, that their entire civilization has been hijacked by sinister forces. They do not want all the "Worthless Eaters" to learn, that the entire modern world...has been established as nothing less than a finely-tuned machine, which thrives on human misery and suffering.

Because with knowledge comes understanding...With understanding comes realization...With realization comes empowerment. This is what they truly fear...for an empowered enemy, is no longer dissented.

Shills (get paid to) spread propaghanda, derail threads, smear people, ridiculing (some) conspiracy theories. Not sure where the word shill comes from, but i always thought it comes from "to chill", as in they cool down a hot topic.

Shill is a pretty old word for someone placed in a crowd to say or do something to influence the crowd. You could also call someone like that a plant.

Well, we shouldnt go on the other side and say that everyone who tries to explain something with a logical, scientific method is a paid shill by a gov or a private organisation.
Sometimes people do become very insistent to debunk some non-scientific "theories", but we have to admit that there are so many silly/crazy, not having common sense or any basic knowledge claims, that makes a person who has both and maybe more (eg a professional scientist on the subject) to freak out as some of these claims become popural and continue to spread obscurantism (i hope this is the right word).

Dr. Astro does it the right way imo. When he debunks a theory he does it in a way that should piss no one off, i.e. well researched and with evidence to back up his claims.

Obviously not everyone is as educated in Astronomy, that's why we have 4,000 people online, everyone has his area of expertise and together we can solve almost any riddle. Actually that's the main reason i come here, to read other's input on various matters.
