Absolutely! I am a retail store manager when an Indian person came to my store,he asked me for more discount to which I said "no'.
He told me to go get the manager, I told him "I am the manager." He said, "no, you can't be the manager." I said why because am black? His answer was emphatical "yes!". I gladily walked him out of my store.

I have met all kinds of indian people.. I would say all races are racist in equal amounts..

Indians have caste system which is a birth-based classification of various clans into a bunch of hierarchies as a practical reality, no matter how many apologists brush it off as an aberration of a more just system devised in their scriptures.

Vast majority of Indians have dark skin tone (brown or black) and yet all the actors and actresses are white and sometimes even praised as such (Hrithik as Greek god?). Indians have inferiority issues.

I work for a lot of Indians and while they are great people they can be racist ( but so can anyone of any skin color)

But if they seem more racist I would agree that yeah, it has to do with the caste system. The ones I know are higher caste and they do make fun of lower castes sometimes, albeit fairly lightheartedly.


To be fair though, the Indians I know are some of the kindest, most generous people I know, which can't be said for most of the white people I know ( myself included)

why did you pick India to spend your vacation? I could think of many better places to vacation in, like any Caribbean island or Bermuda.

Maybe they have just seen 90% white tourists. Even here in Hawaii we dont see very many blacks. Hardly none live here and when the cruise ships dock maybe 0ne or two couples are black. Guess they just dont travel much

i have met many indian people and have yet to meet one who i didn't like.

I have been working as an IT Contractor for over 10 years and what I have noticed over the years is I never get roles if the person interviewing me is Indian. I only get roles if the interviewer is either a White or Black person. 15 contracts, 11 where White interviewers, 4 where black interviewers. I have had over ten interviews with Indian interviewers over the past few years and I have never got the role even though I know I did OK in the interview.

If the interviewer has an Indian sounding name I know I have a better chance of winning the lottery then getting the role. I always go into interviews professionally and positively but I never get the role if an Indian person interviews me.

You know where you stand with a white person they either love you or hate you. With Indian people it is very, very, very hard to tell. They will smile and laugh with you but they have already made up their mind even before you have sat down, you are not getting the role. You could go into an interview with an Indian interviewer and show them how to change water into liquid gold and they still would not give you the role. I believe it’s a cultural and religious thing, Indian people do not like Black people, or people with dark skin. What worries me is as there becomes more Indians in IT management roles, black people will find it even harder to get work within IT even if they are the best person for the job.

I am sorry that happened to you and YES they have this deeply ingrained caste system. IF you are born really dark skinned over there...you better work hard and get to the USA fast or be a slave all your life. IT SUCKS! Your from the UK?
