so now, if you're only going to pick out 'ins. companies' from my comment...the point is the home owners ins those people have....the ins. co. who find any pathtic reason not to fill a claim, even more so to people who have paid their premiums for yrs on end. The people in Hurricane Sandy were not irresponsible - (other than living on the coast-disasters happen everywhere) they deserve foodstamp help.

Didn't our 'guberment' put these RFID chips in all the guns the gifted to the Mexican cartels, in Fast 'n Furious ? Yet, they claimed they were UNABLE to track them, after distribution...just sayin'!

No they did not put anything in the firearms to track them.

1)As for insurance companies, homeowners insurance does not cover a flood. If there was damage due to winds they will be compensated. But everyone knows when they buy homeowners insurance it doesn't cover floods. Only the government offers flood insurance. So if they are not getting paid, it's because FEMA isn't complying.

2)As for those who have lost their jobs and "need" foodstamps: I think if they want to use foodstamps, ok then, but you can't complain when the government wants to chip you. There are always strings attached with Uncle Sam. If they're payin your bills, they own you.

3)There are many private org. that help those in need. It doesn't always have to be the government. Although the government has increasingly made it more difficult for private parties to be involved in charity. But that's a whole nother topic in itself.

Anyone who believes it is a positive note that the GOVERNMENT require CHIPPING of any US Citizen is simply not thinking. I am no fan of the EBT/ SNAP/ etc. programs - I'd surely love to see a return of at least some of the money that has been taken from me to fund them. There simply has to be corrections, adjustments, and stronger oversight to these programs to address the fraud/ waste/ and the root causes, but there is a much greater issue at-hand here.

Far and beyond the issue of welfare or entitlement, or the knee-jerk remarks in response to such; the issue here is that the US Government has become brazen enough to even begin to entertain the though of marking and cataloging people like cattle. It's even scarier that at least some people - my fellow Americans - think it's acceptable.

Sure, this is an easy mark - "those people" (both assistance recipients and the prisoners mentioned earlier) are easily designated as "undesirables". As the American people buy off on such programs under these auspices, just who/ what sect of society is next to be marked as "undesirables", and how much easier will this program migrate across the population?

Have we not learned anything from history? As much as Hitler and his deplorable actions are often referenced here, this type of activity - the singling out of particular sects of society for the "good or benefit" of the government - is bought off on simply because these people fit into an arbitrary categorization of "undesirable".

A large number of the posters in this thread have also been present in the numerous gun-control related threads. There has been little throttling back of opinions, views, and personal stances expressed - specifically the guarantees to the citizenry secured by the US Constitution - in direct voicing of opposition to the US Government, and specifically the against current Administration. With this in mind, does that not mean that "...certain inalienable rights, endowed by The Creator" (specifically the BoR) becomes suspended for a certain portion of the populous because you, personally, believe them to be "undesirable"?

You keep banging this drum - keep calling for and supporting the treating and marking of Americans as livestock. As this program grows legs - just how long do you think it will be until you'll be labeled as "UNDESIRABLE"?
