Observations indicate that the current growth event is centered on the east side of the sinkhole – possibly related to shifting of salt and material within the cavern collapse zone. After a period of heightened activity, the number and strength of sharp seismic events dropped markedly following the release of debris and hydrocarbons from the sinkhole – though impacts at the surface on the eastern side of the sinkhole will continue to be monitored closely.

EC, what is your estimation of the prognosis of things at the sinkhole. What have you heard they are planning to do, if anything to correct the problem?

My feeling is this is the trigger for a major New Madrid Faultline event.

They are keeping everyone pretty much in the dark. I think they know there is nothing they can do to stop it from growing.
All they seem to be doing is watching the situation and doing some flaring, which in my opinion, is dangerous since so much methane is now coming from so many different locations.
There is virtually nothing on the local news.

This just happened about 5 minutes ago. My granddaughter and I were sitting on the sofa watching tv when there was a loud boom. Even my husband, who was in his shop out back heard it this time. I've heard several booms this past week. Just wanted to let someone know since there have been booms reported all over the country in the past few weeks. No planes, no military bases anywhere close. Just wanted to add this to the booms heard around the country.

it's very creepy when you here the booms, doesn't sound like anything you've ever heard.

I live 30 minutes away from bayou corne, in the northern tip of terrebonne parish... Nothing strange to report here. No booms, quakes etc.

I haven't heard this much discussed in the MSM, but am so glad the GLP peeps are on top of this story. This is probably one of the gravest situations going on in the US right now.
