It's been changed and it is meant to be changed. The thing is the people saying "it's the constitution" really don't care for the constitution either. Well if the people want to change the Constitution there is a process for that. It takes years and I don't think the individual States would allow the 2nd amendment to go down anyway.

I think what the gun advocates are protesting is Obama's tendendancy to make executive orders at the drop of a hat.

1) the thing is many of these tyrants say any talk of change is going against the Constitution and therefore people speaking of the desire for change are anti-American. Again. That is the group being discussed.

OP, would you have a problem with the first amendment being removed from the constitution? Would you be willing to protect that right at all costs, or would you just say "oh well, they can change it"?

Changes to the constitution are a big ass deal and are best done by adding rights at the end, not changing current ones.

We aren't really talking about the constitution being changed, because there is no way that 2/3 of both houses will vote for removing the 2nd amendment, then 38 states ratify it. Ain't gonna happen.

As for the amendement process of the Constitution, Washington and others CLEARLY warned against using the amendment process to undo the original meaning. Amendments were intended to enhance and clarify....NOT to subvert the original.
