PATHETIC: Carol Shea-Porter, (D-NH) Responds To My Gun Control Concerns As Feinstein Reveals Bill
Ruger should have gotten the same note. I participated in a collective grievance.

Dear Mr. XXXXXXX

Thank you for contacting me with your concerns about gun laws. I appreciate your thoughts and welcome the opportunity to respond.

The tragedy in Newtown, Connecticut was an unspeakable horror. My prayers are with the victims and their families, as well as the teachers and other public safety personnel who acted heroically to save lives.

In Newtown's aftermath, I pledged to work towards ending these mass shootings that shock America far too often. In New Hampshire, we have a proud tradition of responsible gun ownership. I appreciate the importance of this tradition and I strongly support the Second Amendment. I believe that we can protect our traditions and rights and also protect our citizens by enacting measures such as banning high capacity magazines, doing proper background checks, and closing loopholes. Indeed, a recent survey showed that seventy-four percent of current and former NRA members supported criminal background checks of anyone purchasing a gun. Information on this survey is available at Royters: www.XXXXXXX.com/article/2012/07/25/us-usa-shooting-denver-guns-idUSBRE86O02O20120725.

There are a number of pieces of legislation that have been introduced since the tragic events in Newtown, including the Firearm Safety and Public Health Research Act, a bill I have cosponsored that would allow the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the National Institutes of Health to study the causes of gun violence. I also expect to see new legislation introduced in response to President Obama's speech and I will keep your thoughts in mind as Congress considers these proposals.

To learn about current legislation or about my voting record, I invite you to visit the Library of Congress legislative information website (www.thomas.gov). There, you can find the full text of a bill or a summary, who introduced it and when, who is cosponsoring it, and where it is in the legislative process. I also invite you to visit my website ( [link to shea-porter.house.gov)] for more information about bills that I have introduced or cosponsored, and for issue updates, position statements, or to sign up for my email newsletter. You can also connect with me by visiting my official Facebook page (www.facebook.com/RepSheaPorter) and Twitter feed ( [link to twitter.com]

Thank you again for contacting my office. It is a privilege to serve you in Washington.

Sincerely,

Carol Shea-Porter
Member of Congress

I'm interested in knowing if anyone from another state received the same response. Nothing would make me happier than to call the media's attention to a chain letter being circulated by the Democrats in solidarity with the head asslicker.

This woman is an absolute TOOL. It's difficult to imagine she was able to form these words on her own. She was re-"elected," following the upset of Frank Guinta(R), who took HER seat in the previous election/same administration. VERY curious. Nonetheless and despite any hopeful language in this letter, she will UNDOUBTEDLY fall in lock-step with her party. The welfare and well-bing of citizens in the State of NH is incidental to ANYTHING she supports. Again...TOOL.

I'm in God's country(Wyoming), and both my senators wrote to tell me that they would fight to stop any gun ban, or other restrictions on our second amendment rights. It sounds like you need to work aq little harder around election time. These progressive liberals should all be sent home!
Hope for the best, but prepare for the worst.

Epic, there is absolutely no logical reason for her to be back in Washington in the first place. Without warning, we woke up the day after the last election and found our leadership at the state and federal levels had been handed completely over to the ladies, all but one of whom is a Republican. Shea-Porter took back the seat the voters removed her from in the last election, which I found to be suspicious. NH has historically belonged to the Republicans, and the only explanation I can offer is that the number of liberal transplants, mostly from MA, have finally tipped the balance. In fact, many of our elected officials including the governor are wealthy libs from MA. It's an absolute tragedy.

Re: PATHETIC: Carol Shea-Porter, (D-NH) Responds To My Gun Control Concerns As Feinstein Reveals Bill
NH is home to an enormous number of defense companies large and small, and several, well-known firearms companies including: Ruger, Sig, H&K, and until recently, Thompson Center. Firearm ownership in NH is probably in the top 3 per household in America. That statistic I need to research. But I'm not exaggerating when I say NH enjoys a more unmolested 2nd Amendment than almost any other state in the union. I can only speak for myself, but I don't think our drastic shift in politics has taken place by accident. Keep a mindful eye on how our NH representatives in Washington vote on gun control measures, because those votes will provide a window into what we can expect nationwide.

NFA Weapons:

"NH machine gun ownership soars
The Associated Press

DOVER, N.H. — A newspaper analysis is reporting that the number of automatic weapons in New Hampshire has jumped since 2010, making it the No. 1 state in the number of automatic weapons per capita.

Foster's Daily Democrat reported Sunday that the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives says there were 9,863 registered machine guns in New Hampshire last March, up 80 percent from December 2010.

The newspaper says it's unclear if the numbers reflect an increase in private ownership. The figures could include weapons for law enforcement and military use.

Automatic weapons fire as long as the trigger is depressed. It's illegal for civilians to own automatics made after 1986 without approval from the ATF.

The newspaper said there were 7.5 machine guns in New Hampshire per 100,000 people."

Accurate, per capita data is difficult to come by. The majority of data appears to be generated from voluntary polling; And the only one's senseless enough to give away valuable, personal information are the liberals. So non-NFA ownership becomes difficult to assess.

Right, because infants are being mowed down like blades of grass by madmen like me with class III weapons day after day. Were you dropped on your head in the delivery room? Or moreover, were you the victimized fetus of a procedure you likely support?

Poll shows Granite Staters strongly favor 'assault weapons' ban, full background checks

HENNIKER -- A new poll by New England College found a large majority of Granite Staters favor a ban on "assault weapons" and universal background checks for gun purchases.
The poll conducted Jan. 21 and 22 of 656 registered asked two direct questions:
- Whether "assault weapons" should be banned.
- "Do you support the idea of universal background checks for gun purchases?"
The first question contained no specific explanation of an "assault weapon," according to NEC spokesman Scott Spradling.
"It is a broad poll question, but we are confident people know and understand the definition of an assault weapon," Spradling said.
The poll showed 72 percent favored and 24 percent opposed an "assault weapons" ban and that 88 percent favored and 10 percent opposed the idea of universal background checks.
According to the poll, men favored an "assault weapons" ban, 64 to 34 percent and women favored it, 80 to 16 percent.
"New Hampshire voters show surprisingly strong support for these gun control moves," NEC poll director Dr. Ben Tafoya said in a statement.
"There are deep and lasting effects on the public from the heightened level of sensitivity toward these issues in light of the tragic shootings in Newtown, CT," Tafoya said.

"Majority of Granite Staters." Are you kidding? 656 liberal respondents represent the majority of the population? The timing of this poll and it's results along with the letter I posted and Feinstein's antics are all the circumstantial evidence necessary to make the case that we're simply spectators and not participants in any kind of a democratic republic. Now sit back and enjoy how this campaign of disinformation and fear picks up momentum elsewhere.
