The Bible reads, “Then Cain went away from the presence of the LORD and settled in the land of Nod, east of Eden” (Genesis 4:16). No one knows where the land of Nod was located, only that it was east of Eden. The Bible does not mention the land of Nod again. [link to www.gotquestions.org] |

This is pretty much why I identify with Cain. My brother (religious believers) seem to have their offering (knowledge of God and/or spirituality) all sown up and accepted (they can "see" God in the world).. My offering was sincere (a long time ago), but evidently it was rejected (I cannot "see" God in the world). So I admit I look upon my brother with jealousy and "murder" (argue and question the existence of such things) him, over and over. When I say "God" you can pretty much insert any spiritual or supernatural power/force/phenomena in that slot. 'Magically Delicious' |

While Abraham is called the “Father of the Faithful” and the recipient of God’s unconditional covenant of grace to His people, Moses was the man chosen to bring redemption to His people. God specifically chose Moses to lead the Israelites from captivity in Egypt to salvation in the Promised Land. Moses is also recognized as the mediator of the Old Covenant and is commonly referred to as the giver of the Law. Finally, Moses is the principal author of the Pentateuch, the foundational books of the entire Bible. Moses’ role in the Old Testament is a type and shadow of the role Jesus plays in the New Testament. As such, his life is definitely worth examining. [link to www.gotquestions.org] |

John the Baptist is the New Testament forerunner who points the way to the arrival of the Lord, just as Elijah filled that role in the Old Testament (and will again in the future – see Revelation 11). Third, Elijah himself appears with Moses at Jesus’ transfiguration after John the Baptist’s death. This would not have happened if Elijah had changed his identity (Matthew 17:11-12). [link to www.gotquestions.org] In Christianity, the New Testament describes how both Jesus and John the Baptist are compared with Elijah, and on some occasions, thought by some to be manifestations of Elijah, and Elijah appears with Moses during the Transfiguration of Jesus.
