It's a nice gesture. He's a nice guy and a great player. No complaints.

He could always get more money somewhere else, if he was so inclined.

I think his main priority is his family and ensuring they're happy.

Beckham said he will donate the wages(170K a week) earned during his five-month contract to a children's charity in Paris.

"It's something exciting and something I'm not sure has been done before," he told reporters, and revealed that his family will be based in his hometown London.

All these athlete douchebags have their own charitable trusts. It's a tax dodge and nothing more.

You're going to pay 10 million in taxes. Take the 10 million and dump it into your tax free charitable trust. Hire your wife to be the president of the trust. Pay her 5 million a year and give the rest away. She pays 2.5 million in taxes and you wind up with an extra 2.5 million you otherwise would have pissed away to the government.

They're not doing it because they give a shit about the kids. They're doing it for the fucking money.
