As a Raw Vegan, this news is ridiculous, unsuprising, and straight dissapointing. Thats 1 billion LIVING organisms that were KILLED for the quick heartless induglent cravings of the American people. I'm watching the game and am making an awesome fruit smoothie with a shitload of bananas, tangelos, berries and almond milk; with beans, avocado & coconut as the meal. Have fun getting your adrenal glands shot and your energy levels drained so you can sit in front of a tv for 5 hours brain-dead lolol

I make an entire chicken breast hot wing style. Then I slice it up and serve over a bed of lettuce with celery, avacado and blue cheese dressing. It's delicious.

I happen to like wings. Ate bout two dozen for dinner today, but not because its "SuperBowl Sunday" but merely because I hadnt had them in awhile, fuck football. To the guy who was making gumbo and cornbread, that shit sounds good as hell as well.

On Super Bowl Sunday, America consumes 101.25 BILLION calories, 6.75 BILLION grams of fat and 28.75 BILLION mg’s of cholesterol on chicken wings alone. On top of that, we’ll also consume 4.96 MILLION calories and 339.2 THOUSAND grams of fat of potato chips.

Not to mention the amount of pizza, chip dips, sauces and beer that will be consumed and all served in an “all-you-can-eat” buffet style manner.
It has been estimated that the average person will spend about $60 on food and merchandise in one day, coming in at about $18 BILLION total

People have lost their fucking minds.

I just cannot stand this ignorant, gluttonous populous that I see everyday. And, to top it off, folks are mindlessly "participating" in today's events just to have their stake in such a "glorious event". Fuck that.

I don't watch NFL. I despise overinflated sports, along with the multimillion dollar players, and whatever billion dollar owners. Interestingly, I watch the people who participate in today's mindless debacle "choosing" which team to "root for" - as if they have some sort of relevant say in the way they are participating. Meanwhile, it's a fucking team that they DESPISED and/or never would have supported all year...ever.

Although, the psychology of this day is absolutely psychotic anyway. It's absolutely insane.

Honestly? I am not participating in any type of super bowl activity this year. After I read that article, I was totally disgusted with how much money is being spent on this game. I have not watched any commercials or videos and I have no interest at all in doing so. As far as I know, my sons are not participating in any type of celebration or party either.

I am having my own private boycott.

Here we've been talking about people without jobs, without insurance, without homes, without food who are struggling to survive.
America is on the verge of complete economic collapse, freedom continues to be taken away from us, many are having a hard time keeping their wits about them, anger continues to grow--people are hurting, they are suffering.

Yes, some of it is self-inflicting, some people know nothing else but to rely on others for their financial needs. But for the ones who have worked hard all their lives and had no hand in having everything stripped from them, their homes, their jobs, their security, I think about them. I think about how $80,000 spent on one football spectator seat could've been used to help someone who is truly needy.

Exactly, and so very well said. I'm actually doing the same thing - having my own personal boycott of today's "event". It's interesting that I'm fending off folks left and right on Facebook for the remarks I've made about not participating in today's "Super Bowl".

And what you said about the less fortunate people of our own, meanwhile spending millions/billions of $ on this day - I wholeheartedly agree. I just cannot comprehend why we have turned into who we are today...
