Let's put this in perspective:
An Army Staff Seargent (E6) starts at approximately $26k. So...there's a whopping $260 fucking dollars per annum raise he can look forward to in 2014 to cover the unpredictable (but you know it's going to be more than 1%) inflation.
It's like getting paid LESS in 2014 than he's getting paid now.
