Canada and American is like a married couple. One bickers the other says whatever dear but you can see the love in this thread.

I think a lot of Americans have never been to Canada. It's a lot different than the US I think. Still feels like "home", but I can say that lol. Half my family is from there.

What people fail to realize, is that there's no such thing as "American" anymore.

I've met dozens of Canadians...they've all been very similar. Very friendly. Mellow people. I'd feel safe giving them a ride, kinda thing.

But America? Well. Maybe 30-40 years ago I could say the same thing.

Now you can't walk down the street at night in most American cities. But the rural America is still safe with some great traditional people.

I speak to Americans on the phone all of the time. I find most friendly and helpful. However, in Ohio, Pennsvlvannia and Michigan...they are more held back, reserved. Many times I feel like I inconvenienced them by calling. I sort of have to drag an answer out of them. Maybe its a regional sort of reservedness.

Yes. Each state or area has different "types" of people. Even different accents.

The people in Los Angeles are very different than those in New York (people in NY tend to avoid eye contact and ignore their surroundings).

I once dated a guy from Canada. He was charming, friendly and chivalrous.

My favorite memories of my trip to Canada are a messed leg from a mishap on Whistler/Blackcomb and fish and chips at a pub. The only thing that I noticed different there was that labels in the store were in English and French instead of English and Spanish as in the states.

The people in NYC during 9/11 were so wonderful. They would sit and chat about the trauma with me. My heart went out to them so much. The Nj folks are funny. They don't pull any punches. LOL

That's how I feel people portray Americans. Yes, there are plenty of ignorant loud mouths here. But there are many many more strong, friendly, peaceful Americans here.

seemingly most here dont realize that Cascadians are already a separate culture. Alaska, BC, Washington, Oregon and Northern Cali are fleeing from the rest of ya and good riddance. Some of ya are still complaining about Acadians or thinking America has 'a culture' or that speaking about 'Americans' makes sense.

On here, the left coast (according to the map not political persuasion) we want hemp in ALL its forms removed from any governments interference. I will state that most Cascadians know that 'America' is actually a bunch of balkanized states whose individual power is slowly being eroded by a supposed central power based out of swamp land in DC. I will state that most Cascadians know that Canada is going through the same thing.

They are everywhere in NY, bad drivers, as bad as california drivers.... But they do have a very nice sense of fashion, always dressed to the nine's.


Oh and Toronto is gorgeous. Very pretty city. Much prettier then nyc.
