A famous monk visited our home and he surprised my father by reading his mind. At that time he was having Inheritance problems , that is inner family case and we are not even close with that monk, and he is one of the Leading Buddhist monk in our country , his teachings always Air on TV.

It's very real, OP. Months ago, I was having a telepathic discussion with my exbf while we were in bed. I was in a light sleep and he was sleeping but I remember it was both of us communicating back in forth with our voices but our lips were not moving!
I want to be able to do this with my cat.

I have a suggestion. Don't tell people you know what they are thinking. You know or you don't it doesn't matter. On the other hand what you are doing with the ask and tell thing is irritating to your wife, but more so if you have this ability with other people over time you may find out that they don't like you saying what you know from reading their minds. This is also a useful talent in every day life but it is best to keep it under your hat. I hate that I gave you that suggestion.
