Abandoned Places - World Wide

I'm afraid our best days are far behind us now...

this is awesome. wonder why they r all abandoned? suretheres different reasons for most. some mayb due to chemicals nearby,etc. any1 have any idea how hard it would b to take 1 of these properties n fix em back up?

They're closed because this economy is doomed. Shitty labor force, worthless lawyers suing anything that moves, and ...uh...no jobs.

Just google "abandoned ghost towns of ___" and place any state in the west where the underlines are. Plenty of abandoned former mining towns when the gold or silver ran out.

I'm curious about the history of that Neo gothic castle. It looks like it can be rehabbed with a bit of work and money. Outside structure is sound. That castle is really awesome.

Cairo, Illinois. Not a lot of people know about this one. Has some interesting history too.

They are returning Detroit to farmland and that is right out of Agenda 21.

Wilder TN,

Davidson, TN

both were very old coel mining towes, there is nothing left in wilder. drove thru there a few years back and you cant even tell where the city used to be or nothing. not 1 building is standing just over grown brush and 1 part of the bucket that carried the coel to the road is all that is left. wilder is like a 30 min. drive from where i live.

davidson last time i went there had 1 building left standing. i need to go back and see it and maybe take some photos. road been falling in a lot and it breaks off all the time because they mined the coal out from under where the road is and it falls down all the time. one guy told me he was gonna buy it and damn it up and make a lake out of it but i recon he never did. i think they should preserve it and keep it because this area is an old area and a ghost town

Bunch of rotting garbage that banks or the government hog. Tear that shit down and sell the land at a reasonable price to people that can use it.

Reminds me of how the stinking worthless government pays farmers to let citrus crops rot and not to grow anything.

I wonder just how WRONG ARE the national population figures we get. It appears to me, this nation despite unlimited immigration, is emptying out.

Isnt it strange how quickly a place goes downhill once people leave it?

Its as though the place itself is alive, and when the people leave, the place loses its will to live.

Are there any? I'd love to see them. The places of 'us', the poor and middle class are crumbling as is our way of life. Sure, you might find fat-cat playgrounds shooting toward the sky in gleaming glory, but our places, our songs, and our laughter only seems to crumble a bit more each passing day.

Some day people will look at all those malls and think WTF were people doing?

Entire city of Detroit is abandoned. You could drive around that place for a week and not see the same abandoned building twice.
