Anonymous Coward User ID: 23794435 United States 02/12/2013 08:18 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I have had a similar problem in one shoulder. Nothing would relax it. Had it for much of my adult life. Recently I started taking magnesium and it's now gone! Also had headaches for most of my life and they are gone too since taking magnesium. There is a product called 'Calm' which is magnesium citrate that is a powdered fizzy drink. It's easy to get down. Helps keep you regular too. ;-) Some forms of magnesium are not easily absorbed, and I've seen it recommended to put get magnesium oil and put it on your skin. [link to www.cheeseslave.com] At the very least, do some research into magnesium deficiency. It's worth a shot to try! |

Now all of it is gone. I think that calcium, magnesium and vit D supplements are what solved the problem. Not sure about your case but I'd be looking at vit/mineral supplements... |

A good soak in mineral waters is a great help to a body. Geothermal mineral waters are the best! I've just helped a nasty horse bite which caused much muscle damage by mineral waters. But I now take 600mg of magnesium each day and it is a tremendous help for my hurt muscles. |

I was extremely low on Vitamin D about two years ago and I won't go into details, but I was very sick and had no idea that a deficiency in vitamins could screw with someone like that so YES, I will most definitely look into this. Thank you very much for the advice. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 33560264 United States 02/12/2013 08:30 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I have a terrible knot in my right shoulder blade. My neck muscle on that side sucks too but the knot is killing me. When I lay down at night, the throbbing keeps me awake. When I do finally fall asleep, I awaken when I move and the pain hits me. I have tried Chiropractors and massage and it is only a temporary fix. Help! Quoting: darkminded Wife, girlfriend or friends elbow!! I usually use the corner of a wall if needed. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 11905330 Sounds as though your neck muscles are working overtime. Sit upright with the collar on and put a heating pad on the affected side. When I did the collar before, it intensified the problem. I have a permanent knot on my upper right-hand side neck muscle and the collar irritated it. I do know that the muscle in my neck is the same one that it is giving me the problems with my shoulder. I have a top of the line massage chair and I have used that in combination with heating pads but it is always a temporary relief. Thank you though. |

My husband has rubbed it many times and my Step-Mother is a Physical Therapist and gave me the advice (she calls in a lesion in the muscle), to press on it very hard but not to massage it. It does feel better for a short time but the pain comes back within about twenty minutes. |

I had the exact same thing and the medicine is the only thing that helped. Took about three days but the pain finally went away. The anti inflammatory i took is called diclofenac. I guarantee it will help |

The magnesium oil I mentioned before that you can make yourself are made from another form of magnesium (different from Epsom Salts) and it is called 'Ancient Minerals', so I think you are right! |
