I never did that much research into it... i would like to see a good book or article on it. I think the subject is HIDDEN for a reason. I have her life story that SHE WROTE to the president on her DEATHBED... When he denied her citizenship. I will look for her paper and share it here

There IS white slavery in the US - it's called WAL-MART, McDONALDS, TARGET...etc. When you pay people minimum wage that is slavery!!!!

The first slave in America was a white person. Owed so much and was already living under 'indentured servitude' status so the judge at the time made this WHITE person a full fledged 'slave'.

This is why so many whites do not show any sympathy towards the 96% of blacks who cry foul that 'whitey' is nothing but cotton-farm slave drivers.

If blacks realized slavery existed before them then they would not have much to bitch about.

Some black Sth Africans employ whites as slaves ('housekeepers' they are called)
That is why many of them here treat whites like shit.(they think we will be slaves for them)

She came from Austria. Her parents sent her by herself to move in with her uncle who had already set up shop in the US. She was under 20. She was taken prisoner while already in american waters, not at Ellis island yet. Taken by whites and trafficked by other whites. They took all her papers. She escaped after months and made it to Buffalo NY. I dont have her life story in front of me at the moment but if i remember the president that denied her was either Jimmy Carter or Ronald Reagan... Im still fighting it till this day

My first relative on my dad's side came from England an indentured servant. This was in the 1700's.

I know. And if you work to pay someone else's bills you are a slave (that means alot of us are).

There certainly were white slaves in America! It is quite a history. Everyone must do their own research. (Clue: census records of the period. I discovered it as I dug into first or original source material for my genealogy.)

There were Europeans, a high percentage of Irish. Indentured servants who were manipulated so as to never bail themselves out. Thus, as enslaved as the rest.

People who, like your ancestor, were bought and sold just like the blacks.

There were also free blacks who owned slaves, black and white.

In some census periods, in some places, black and white slave owners, both, owned more white slaves than black.

Historically, the most dangerous tasks were given to the white slaves because the black slaves were too economically valuable and more expensive to replace.

Even on GLP, such facts are tossed to the side of the road.

Yes it was at the turn of the century.

She was very pretty... blonde, but hair got a bit darker in winter.

It was sex trafficking for the younger woman mostly... like i said she was around 14-17. She got smuggled into the country stuffed inside the bottom of a boat. Treated horribly.

I dont know why she was/is denied citizenship... she lived here over 70 years... i met her as a young child, she had diabetes and lost both her legs... sooo sad. My goal in life is to get her citizenship

What the f are you waiting for? Instead of waiting for a book to be written, write it yourself. Or at least contact a competent author/writer and get it happening. btw you might look into LABOR HISTORY, of Euro immigrants in the 1920s (I think) New York et al. If working under those conditions isnt slavery, I dont know what is. It would be a good primer. And I support this subject not as a whiny "me too" divisive reaction to American black historical complaints,, but as a story that needs to be told that builds unity...
