The blast was even more powerful than North Korea’s recent nuclear test, added the UK journal. Unlike the Russian Academy of Science, it estimated that the mass of the fireball was around 40 tons before it entered the atmosphere. Russian scientists put the mass at 10 tons. Chyelabinsk is a city. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 21903530 It knocked down a cinder block factory wall and shattered enough glass to injure 1,000 or more people. A knocked down factory and shattered glass is far from a nuke. Free speech is never free. If da-14 hits russia, thats a different story... Russia would be gone! WRONG... Damage is proportional to the distance from the "blast" ... and in this case the "blast" was a considerable distance from the city (both altitude distance AND lateral distance). It is only "IF" the blast occured right above the city at a 1 to 3 miles would the blast effect had a huge impact on the city ... even 20 miles away (straight line, which encompasses both altitude distance AND lateral distance) the blast effect would have been minimal. At 40 miles (ie: 20 miles high, ie: 105,000' and 20 miles lateral) the blast effect would have been very minimal. Physics 101 |

NASA are bunch of shills no one really pays any attention to them anymore they have zero credibility these days. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 19412151 correct let's face FACTS here now, shall we? so called 'paranoid CTers' called this SPOT ON yesterday. Perseus, on another thread, said EXACTLY this event would happen, AND provided evidence of it too. why does it take 'kooks' on fringe internet forums to inform us of deadly events? why can't our GOVERNMENTS do that job? |

When they talk about blowing asteroids up they say some are iron some are solid rock and others are made up of loose clumps of rock bound by gravity. If the later is the case it could be torn apart by the earths gravity as it approaches like a shotgun spreading out as it gets closer that could be very interesting !. |
