find an empty field dig a hole a crap in it the Bam you own it.

Check the property records, get the name and address of the owner, and make an offer on the property.

start a war with your neighbors,
plant your flag on it.
it's all yours.

Just build a fence around it, annexing it onto yours.

If you have to ask and can't figure it out for yourself then you are really stupid and won't be able to.

THIS, and do it fast, cuz you never know who else is eyeing it as well.

Find out zoning laws for it too, may be different than yours even though next door. Ie like some places can't have certain types of animals on them, (if zoned for city) or vice versa, can't have homes or even a trailer.

Protip:

Not one single person actually owns any land, or property in the United States. Not in the actual sense of "ownership" in that he owns it free and clear, and is beholden to no one.


Even if you buy it cash, you still must pay a tribute to some government agency- local, state, or federal. They call it a "property tax" and if you do not pay it, they come and take what they view as always having been theirs anyway. You are just a "leaser" or a "tenant."

Call a realtor. They deal with this daily, have the access to property info and if you do buy the land, the seller pays the realtor- not you.
