UFO OR Meteor ? caught on Feb 6 above somerset - close up photo
You decide

Has the South West of Britain had a brush with a meteor similar to the one that rocked central Russia on Friday?

Probably not, but mystery still surrounds this mysterious object captured hurtling across the British sky by a wildlife photographer.

Stunned Annie Henderson, 65, was taking pictures of starlings on the Somerset Levels with a friend when she saw the bright light moving at high speed.

those are contrails from a plain reflecting off the setting Sun. Pretty common.

Come on mate, don't give up. It was a good post. As an add on to this, I just want to reiterate that the night before the meteor struck Russia, at precisely 21:06 pm CET or 20:06 pm UK time, I was outside letting the beasts have their last leg cocking chance when all of a sudden, there was this real loud explosion which ricocheted around for several minutes and which was preceded by what I can only describe as this pressure wave which hit me. It was a clear night and I didn't see any streaking lights etc, but sure made the dogs go nuts and made me duck for cover for a minute. Think it was a good few hours before the Russian event, so all I can think of, is that it was a smaller fragment of that meteor which preceded it and entered the atmosphere. Can anyone else corroborate my experience? Like anyone living in northern Europe?
