I thought this was because they already ran out of funding for people with existing conditions. I could be wrong or the article i read was wrong but that was my understanding. My wife has MS and her meds are $48K a year for Avonex. Luckily I have a good job with insurance.

I used to work in the insurance industry, and my husband still does. We knew this was coming a looooong time ago. Just imagine when private insurance companies are forced to pay for PreX! They're going to run out of funding too, and then what???

I lived in the UK in the 80's. I watched their healthcare system kill several people over the years. Hospitals were antiquated and staff was always on strike.

I've warned people for years not to fall for this. You have no idea how bad this will be. I understand the UK is even worse now. If you thought our healthcare was bad, just wait.

I used to work for a health insurance company (I'm in IT). As soon as Obama was elected they started laying people off. It was obvious what was going to happen to all of us. And the thing is -- how many millions of people will be out of work now because the private firms will be driven into the ground?

It's been going on here in AZ for a few years. My friends son has autism and asthma and received state aid. They raised the bar for autism so he can't get the help he needs and my friend and her husband work 5 jobs between them to pay for the kids expenses. (one job is my friend volunteering at school to help with his tuition) Their son's inhalers are $230 a month, the state stopped paying for them so now he's in the emergency room 2x a month.

And Phoenix just GAVE 99 MILLION to the Chicago Cubs for a training camp here. GAVE! The city won't see a return on investment for 30 years.

Politics just plain suck. I'm NOT sticking up for the guy in office now, just sayin' they're ALL unfortunately uncaring, self-serving jerks. It would be nice to say "I wish it were like the old days", but I grew up during Viet Nam, so I can't.

The US is only 37th from the bottom of 191 countries in health care quality. How much worse do they want to make it before we all stop waving flags and bragging about how great we are and get down to work fixin' whats broke?

A guy I work with at work is a HUGE Obamatard, has Obama sticker on his car, constantly defending Obama. I told him what this Obamacare was going to do, it was going to get us laid off because the company cost of employing us was going way because of Obamacare. A wave of layoffs hit the company immediately after it passed and they are not done with them yet. I work in a technical field and am very good at what I do so I am not too worried (though that doesn't mean I am safe). The interesting thing is Obamatard at work is not so good, just adequate, so his last performance review was dismal, and he is running scared. He's going to get laid off for sure, and I am never wrong about these things. But if you told him that Obama is the reason he is getting laid off, he would deny it to his dying breath. What can I say, people are just dumb as a box of cat shit, there's no help for them at all.
