It is not first time in last 3 months something unusual and extreme happen to Italy. I think everyone in Europe know that Italy should not be hit by tornadoes as Mediterranean sea is not enough large as is needed an oceans to give a tornado the necessary energy to born and this was true until 2 months ago.

Tv told it was a tromba d'aria maybe to not alarm ppl... In Italy a tromba d'aria is an event far less dangerous and with far less energy than a tornado... here you can see a picture about it:

This kind of flooding is fairly common over there.

Mt. Etna is not a menace as it is not considered a dangerous volcano: it go in activity often but with low energy explosions or just with lava flows... 3 days ago it erupted from its new emission point with amazing lava fountains but it just lasted few hours... it is quiet for now.

There's a supervolcan in Italy actually in yellow state (=scientific alert state) but it need more time to speak about it without useless alarming... I just can tell you that everything is safe there for now and that scientists are following its parameters with attention everyday... if you are interested I will open another tread about it when I will have time...
