Anonymous Coward User ID: 27202787 Australia 02/22/2013 04:19 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I'm not catholic but I have never read that they portray her as sinless. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 34960947 Oh...they do say that...just wait...follow this thread for a little while...somebody will chime in to defend Mary as sinless. God chose Mary and He kept her sinless. |

This doesn't mean she wasn't tempted, just that, she stayed open to grace, kept following God and never sinned. 2) Jesus is God and man. In his humanity, he experienced temptation. Temptation isn't sin. See 1. |

Mary needed a Savior...because she had sinned. Why did Mary offer a sin offering...the birds that were sacrificed (to fulfill Moses Law) regarding childbirth? Nice try to ignore obvious Scripture. |

CeeLite User ID: 33205178 United States 02/22/2013 04:55 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Catholics...here is a problem you have in believing that Mary was sinless... Quoting: Anonymous Coward 34795766 From James... God cannot be tempted by evil. [link to bible.cc] From John Jesus is God in the flesh (verse 14) [link to www.biblegateway.com] From the gospels.. Jesus was lead by the Holy Spirit into the desert to be tempted... [link to www.biblegateway.com] How could Jesus have been tempted...what part of Jesus's makeup allowed Him to be tested? Oh oh Catholics...Jesus inherited His ability to be tempted...from Mary. Mary had sinned...or why else would Catholics have had to invent the immaculate conception...in 1854? Catholics had to invent a doctrine that said that Mary was born sinless...utter nonsense! |

Anonymous Coward (OP) User ID: 34795766 United States 02/22/2013 05:04 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | We inherit original sin at birth. If you claim Mary wasn't sinless then you're also saying Jesus wasn't sinless. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 30270036 No, the "original sin" idea is a Catholic invention. You are born with a sinful nature...a tendency to sin...but, you are not born with sin. Ezekiel 18 does a good job of explaining the situation... [link to www.biblegateway.com] |
