Quoting: Anonymous Coward 23766809 Now I have to ask... why in the hell would crows be on a protected species list? Aren't they the most common bird species on earth? The're freakin everywhere. When I first moved to my neighborhood, the noisy birds were everywhere. Then in 2007, West Nile virus caused quite a decline in the numbers of crows and bluejays in my area. This year is the first time I actually heard a crow again, still no bluejays though. I do have a hawk that makes a daily visit to my front porch. That's kind of cool. However, I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me—the task of testifying to the good news of God’s grace. Acts 20:24 "This man really is the Savior of the world!" John 4:42 Look, he is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see him, even those who pierced him; and all the peoples of the earth will mourn because of him. So shall it be! Amen. I am the Alpha and the Omega, " says the Lord God, who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty." Revelation 1:7 |

I'm in southern IN. and they're common enough arround here. I like em actually. Smartest of all the bird species. They're fun to watch. But like I said, why would they be a protected species. There's a shitload of em everywhere all over the world. |

I believe this is the act under which they are protected : Migratory Bird Treaty Act of 1918 The statute makes it unlawful to pursue, hunt, take, capture, kill or sell birds listed therein ("migratory birds"). The statute does not discriminate between live or dead birds and also grants full protection to any bird parts including feathers, eggs and nests. Over 800 species are currently on the list.
