I been stung by them a few times but other than it hurting like hell I had no problems. Just keep an eye out for abnormal swelling, difficulty breathing ect... If you start having these symptoms, go to the emergency room. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 8078225 United States 03/09/2013 02:27 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Wash the wound with soap and water. Apply cold compresses to the affected area to ease the pain and slow the venom's spread. This is most effective in the first two hours after a sting occurs. Try to stay calm and quiet so that the poison spreads more slowly. Don't consume food or liquids — stings can cause throat swelling and difficulty swallowing. Over-the-counter pain relievers, such as nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (Advil, Motrin, others), can help ease discomfort. But avoid using narcotic pain medications, which can suppress breathing. If the pain worsens, heat up an iron pan on the stove, cut off your leg then use the pan to cauterize the wound and you should be fine. |

There is the unlikely chance you'll go into anaphylactic shock, but if so you'd already be doing that wouldn't you? When I was 4 years old I got hit by one 3 times on the neck and I was fine. Pretty much every family member I have has been hit at least once. You'll be fine. It's similar to three bad red wasp stings at once. That is all. |

Last time I went to a hospital it was for a moderate cut on the foot, and I ended up dealing with MRSA for two weeks. |

I assume AZ is the same way. |

It will hurt like anything for a day or two, but the good news is you aren't allergic so you have no worries. |

Going to a hospital is of itself a risk nowadays, so you really have to weigh the two... |
