When has the Church ever taught this? Popes have been publishing Encyclicals and other writings for centuries. Can you find one writing from one pope saying that murder is a doctrine of faith? Let me prove my point this way: A pope's actions, though they may be be scandalous and even heretical, do not necessarily reflect the teachings of the Church.
