Just Now: Big BOOM and BANG Sounds Coming from the Sky (SW Missouri)

More input pls.... i have family down in that area... what did it sound like? did anything shake? vibrate? input input!

Not like thunder or not really bass-y like a boom, but very loud.

Enough to get the dogs barking in the neighborhood.

Looked outside but didn't see anything.

Forecast calls for rain mixed with snow. Probably just some more thundersnow like we had several weeks ago. Go look at the moon it has a ring around it ..bad weather is coming. I am 35 miles NW of you in SE KS.

I'm east of you by a couple hundred-ish miles. No weirdness here yet.

I'm sure the pitbull would come hide in my bed. Puss is afraid of the dark. Have you ever! LOL

Couple of small quakers in that area. Might explain it.

Northeastern Nebraska - one loud boom heard after 9pm CST. Freaked out all the dogs in our neighborhood as well. Drew people out of their homes. Everyone was driving around trying to figure out what was going on.

Heard identical loud boom on the 16th followed by strange metallic sounds, this was in broad daylight.

I am in E-SE Kansas... and just heard what sounded like violent thunder. No kidding.

It IS SNOWING outside but I am sure there is no "thunder snow".

I once lived near a blast mine in Colorado...
Alot of people didn't even know the mine existed and would freak out whenever they blasted.

I know my booms... and what I heard this morning reminded me of a tremor from seismic activity.

this has been one of my research avenues, the mines, there are SO many of them it's insane.

in my group i have a woman telling us about these weird metallic screching sounds, what woke her mom up as a huge boom and house shaking one night was heard by a neighbor 15 minutes away at the same time but it sounded like a LONG wolf howl...she also says she hears things outside her house, and gets really sick & scared feeling...nausea, dizzy, sweats, everything. it passes when the noises are gone.

it could be that testing guy. He goes around with a phone

to his ear, saying, "... Testing!" ... "Testing!" ...

"Testing!" ... "Can you hear me now?"

It was more like a metallic boom.

loud, strong rattling/shaking tonight, NE PA. went outside to see/hear. Checking earthquake sites, it felt that strong, percussion type sound/vibration against all the windows.

THE SOUND WAS A LONG 5SECOND ALARM LIKE SCREECH THEN TWO ROCKET LIKE BLAST FROM THE WEST SIDE OF TOWN.I was sitting in car parkinglot of Walmart and hward the whole thing.Not mothernature .Man made..Scarey...
