Converting people into a certain religion is a means of conquering people.

Like the Mogul empire who forced all people to convert to Islam. By converting the people to Islam, it was a sign that those people have been conquered by the empire. Same with the Roman Empire, Anglicans, conservative Christians. Instead of flags and citizens of a nation, it was a belief in religion. That is why religion is so tightly connected with war and imperialism. There is no afterlife people, its all a hoax!
