update:

link to thread by another user about that actual Hanford, Washington article in the German msm to be found on page 3.

why is the US media so silent about those 2 accidents?
i read them as "breaking news" in German media first !

........
why is no one reporting that here ?

usually, every minor accident gets noticed..

Hm. "Residents heard a loud 'boom'...it was the generator while being 'moved'"

Not a peep about what happened to the victims. Nary a word.

No threat to the public of course.

Sick world.

Thanks for posting this OP..sucking as it does. This one's worth tracking alt news to see what more there obviously is to the story.

nothing here...safety type accident...unpin...however, I will comment that the safety department should be investigated for having not evaluated the potential for an accident for this work activity.

Not developing as much as being investigated. Whether it was equipment or human error will eventually come out. There is no steam coming from the tower so it did not go back online last night as expected.

NRC report: "Lift device failed," dropping 500-ton stator that killed ANO worker
by Adam Franks
01:21 PM, Monday, April 01
A report on the Nuclear Regulatory Commission website says a "turbine temporary lift device failed" while moving a 500-ton turbine generator stator at Arkansas Nuclear One, killing a Russellville man and injuring eight others Sunday morning.

The accident that killed Wade Walters, 24, also disrupted power at the two-unit nuclear plant operated by Entergy near London, and the company said in a statement that both units are "in a stable shutdown condition" and are being powered by emergency diesel generators.

The Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) report said "the full extent of structural damage on Unit 1 is not known" and an "investigation into the cause of the failure and extent of damage is ongoing."

The plant's Unit 1, which lost "decay heat removal" for about four minutes Sunday, was already offline for a planned fueling outage when the stator fell and damaged other plant equipment, Entergy said. The plant's Unit 2, which was operating at full power, automatically shut down, according to Entergy.

"On Unit 2, all rods inserted during the trip. The core is being cooled via natural circulation. Decay heat is being removed via steam dumps to atmosphere. There is no known primary to secondary leakage," the NRC report states.

The plant then entered an "unusual event classification," the lowest of four emergency classifications designated by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission. The plant exited the "unusual event classification" at 6:21 p.m. Sunday.

Entergy has not released the names of the workers injured Sunday, two of whom remained hospitalized at Saint Mary's Regional Medical Center Sunday evening.

Just a few years back I lived in Russellville,AR.

I was within the call radius for events....

I couldn't wait to move away from there for that reason.

I had a friend there who hubby worked/may still work there.

Trying to get info from her but she seems to be silent on the subject so far.
