I assume if they shot even 1 long ranger missle it would be destroyed in flight and NK would then be destroyed.

The more realistic diagrams of the North Korean missiles show USA within range (some still deny it on MSM). The new unnamed missile probably reaches Washington as well. One successful explosion of EMP somewhere above Denver and USA is knocked down returned to pre-industrial era. Even if retaliates with planes and submarines from bases outside continental USA. Who cares that NK will be hit back, most likely not Pyongyang but the nuclear facilities. Who cares really? USA and the rest of developed world will be busy to help American 300 mln population not to die of starvation and disease in the aftermath of the EMP.
