They're unrelated scenes in the episode.

The 3:38 scene involves running over people at the Boston Marathon with a CAR. In reality, it's not unusual for upcoming events to feature in cartoons.

The 15:20 scene involves cell-phone detonation of a couple of explosives placed on a RHODE ISLAND BRIDGE.

I guess the CAR part and the RHODE ISLAND BRIDGE part can be safely ignored for the sake of the ludicrous schizo connection.



They have to tell us, but they can't tell us, eh?

What I find interesting is that the word "cowboy" is used in the title, yet I don't see Peter as a cowboy or a reference to cowboys in the episode unless I'm missing it? However, the poster child for the Boston bombing is a Mexican in a cowboy hat that saved people with his little blood soaked American flag...

sounds nothing like the episode itself. so looks like the punny-ness of the title pretty much stays with the title eh?

Seth and actor Mark Whalberg were both supposed to be on Flight 11 out of Boston on 9/11. So, 2 professional actors with decades of experience in fooling people into believing that fiction is real pretended to be on one of the manifest for one of the planes on 9/11.

Both of their careers have flourished since 9/11.
