Enjoy a joke every now and again, develop an "inner chuckle"...Must be funny Thats about it, shield yourself against the adverse tides of life and focus only on that which brings you peace. |
natasha77 User ID: 35682194 United States 04/22/2013 07:26 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I agree. I can't mention anything to anyone I know and try to have a conversation. I must be crazy. I have gone into a depression over all that's going on and not one person I know sees it or considers listening to me. I must be crazy. SPEAK UP. SILENCE IS DEADLY! I am currently experiencing life at several WTFs per hour. |

curiouslyinterested User ID: 25678800 Canada 04/22/2013 07:40 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Sales is a really difficult job. Of course, other people see it as free trips, hotels, expensive dinners and drinks. What it really is, is a life of almost complete loneliness. You travel alone. You drive alone. You eat alone. You go from one appointment to the next meeting people who are 'playing their part' while you play yours. You cannot discuss politics, in depth news or religion/faith of any kind, else you may offend someone. Your time driving is probably spent listening to the news because its better than dead air. And most of all, you must always wear a smile.... even after you just drove 6 hours to meet with your client. And through all of this, the emails and phone calls just keep coming with each wanting something fixed before it was broken. So OP, I understand where you're coming from. Take a whole bushel full of stress and add the recent news events and you get the straw that broke the camels back. I got out of sales. While I was making very decent money, it was not worth it in the end. I missed my family, my dogs, my friends and good conversation. Now I am in college training for basically a labourers job so that I can be around my family and people once again. You want to go to Ecuador which is sort of the same thing. Perhaps you don't have to go that far to have a happy and rewarding life. |

I'm probably going to move down to Gainesville, FL, where I know some very hip people and the weather is great. I will probably hop back in the sales saddle with my current career - I have enough experience that I was able to generate a salary offer today on a first phone call inquiry in an industry which is normally commission only. It's the smiling and acting that takes its toll, because many days, especially recently, I just don't feel like it! I admire you for going into some form of shop labor you mentioned. You're going to love kicking it with the guys. I was a groundskeeper in high school for several years and we used to have a blast everyday, and still get our work done. |

It's tough to go work in the matrix, especially as my chosen career is sales. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 33413011 I'm debating hopping overseas somewhere and trying to pick up a telecommunication sales job back home. Unfortunately, I don't have enough money to buy into Ecuadorian citizenship. Anyone else feel this way? Knowing the truth and seeing the public reaction to it, its just tough for me still to love everyone. Everyone disappoints me - and I don't trust the future. How is everyone else hanging in there? This (below) has been on drudgereport for a few days...you're not alone. We just have so much news available to us now-a-days, and of course, good news and happy stuff isn't ever reported. "Americans Snapping by the Millions" [link to www.wnd.com] Notice that when you're watching the weather report on the local news, it's always "partly cloudy," never "partly sunny." This is even on the weather website...ARGH! [link to www.weather.com] |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 33413011 I actually lost a family member to suicide, I know well all about it I notice that the people who don't follow the news much are happier! When I'm on vacation and don't have access to the news 24/7, I don't worry. The news is usually depressing. I do have to say you're lucky you have a job! My daughter was unemployed for quite some time. She was living off her savings....holding out for guess what? A sales job! She didn't want anything else. Her last job was sales, and that's what she wanted. I worried because she was spending the money she had saved for years. She started her new sales job last week! We're in a competitive big city league. I play up top. Me, "weak," hahaha, nope! It's called Empathy. I have lots of it. I have a wonderful nephew. And an estranged relationship with my Dad who loves me very much but loves Obama as much as me so I can't barely handle him anymore. And he doesn't understand me and thinks I have mental health issues, a common response from the third eye blind's. These things take a toll, unless you're a hardened buttprick which does not make you "tough," just tough to be around. |

Enjoyed Melancholia, a film some on here noted portrayed the topic. I died a spiritual death when I realized even my muses were sympathetic to the cause and convinced it was coming. The band Fun. resonated with me because they refused to stand for it. My Phoenix rose from its ashes and I began thinking with exceeding mental clarity and new energy and reached new peaks in physical fitness. But its been challenged lately watching the public's support of these clear FF events. I'm not sure what my nephews future looks like, or my own. That's pretty tough. I've just got to find a way to fight through it. |

As luck would have it, my new apartment has been having a lot of gang shootings in the area, so I've been staying inside at least in my neighborhood. I live in a large city controlled by Democrats. A red state relocation might be nice for this reason thinking hard about Gainesville, FL, can definitely enjoy watching springtime come there, now and in the future - whether its trees and birds, or beautiful Florida women :) |
