Aren't they there because they violated intl. law? Sounds like the cheapest way to close down Gitmo without the side effect of releasing the filth back into the world...

It's an intl. politics thing. Trust me, Obama doesn't give a shit about them (or me, or you). He does, however, have to show the rest of the world that he supports basic human rights...even to terrorists. After all, how could we say that Kim Jong Un or Bashar al-Assad or [insert evil dictator] was in violation if we sat back and let the prisoners starve. IMO this president and this country need to take a stand and stop being so limp-dicked and sensitive...maybe we wouldn't get terrorized so much, which would lead to less Muslims in detention.

A hunger strike is effective only if one has some value to one's captors.

Since these scums have no possible value, if they choose to do so , let them starve. Children (and adults) in America are starving every day. Why should we take food out of the mouths of our children in order to feed these ingrates who only want to kill us?

And we CERTAINLY wouldn't want to violate International Law now, would we?
