What's funny is some here called this student brave. Some called him a hero. This is just some naive kid who dropped out of school, struggled a bit and now thinks he has all the answers. Fuck him. If I was his dad I'd beat his ass for being 18 in the 10th grade. Damn Jeff. Just get your GED and move on to community college.

What about his criticisms do you take issue with? He was spot on with everything.

The only reason this thing is going viral is because just about everybody who had to go through the American educational system knows what he's saying is absolutely true and it's got nothing to do with one's parents, except, maybe parents share some blame for not caring enough about their kids education to do something
about the sorry state it's in. The internet, if it remains free, will likely sort out some of these problems, as this video portends. Got a bad teacher, record him or her and put it on u-tube.

Well then, when you can provide a complete picture of facts (ie proof) regarding why you think this way about Jeff then I guess you're just speculating as well. And while the video is incomplete his criticisms are still spot on.

My Algebra 2 teacher in high school used to only hand out packets.... failed the class.

Next week I will be graduating in the top 1% of my class at a state university with a B.S. in mechanical engineering.

I don't know know where you live, but where I live, I see millions of successful Americans that came out of the public school system.

The breakdown of the family unit is at the heart of America's woes.

She's just there for the paycheck. Pass out packets, sit on her ass looking through Cosmo magazines while the kids do their packets, then collect paycheck. Rinse and repeat.

1. Never embarrass someone in front of other people. If he really wanted to make a point, bring it up in private after class is let out. People only get defensive when done the way he did it. She heard nothing - once her defenses went up.

2. Education is a game. You play to get the degree. No one in academia is living in the real world. Change the system when you're in a position to do so- not when you're at their mercy to get the diploma.

Pre-college public school is just a prison - set up for purposes of assimilation into the laws, rules, and customs of society. Don't confuse this for education, or that its purpose is to bestow any sort of knowledge or skill upon its students. Anyone who actually "learns" anything - is just a bonus.

You must have a different definition of success than I do.
The breakdown of the family is a seperate though somewhat related issue. An intact healthy family would not allow the educational system to get away with what it does. The proof in the pudding for this video is the response it's getting, which is about 99% supportive.
