The past years it is these forums i get my news from.

now and then they can be relied upon to tell us if it's currently raining. otherwise, useless since years.

I mean knowing that tv can program what we think and knowing we don't get to choose what that we see on tv effects us. it's simply wise not to expose yourself.

Ya, something like that. The government moves according to public pressure but the media tells you what to think.

Not sure what the equivalent of a public inquiry is in the US... Senate hearing or something? Either way, you'll probably get one of those where they'll be at pains to say "Oh this will make everything transparent and good."

But what will actually happen is that a few sacrificial lambs are thrown to the wolves in a seeming act of redemption, but then everything will return to how it was before.

We had a really good chance in the UK to crack the connection between government and media, but it was all a complete whitewash.

Now they say, "The media has never been more transparent," but in reality, it just peddles the same old government-sponsored corporate crap.

I 'rarely' watch TV now, rarely even watch football unless it's Euro or World cup, but I still have to hide from the TV License inspectors. I answer the door to no-one, unless I'm expecting someone specific, at a specific time. I simply cannot afford £145 a year, esp: on crap I never watch anyway. I've go look thru the keyhole, quietly to see who's at the door. Some 'free' society we live eh?!!

I know Mothers with kids, who have lost their homes, paid up to a £1000 fines & spent 6 months in prison, with their kids taken to foster homes, simply for not be able to afford to pay the TV fee. I know of people who jumped to their death, either from a high building or bridge onto rail tracks when a train was coming, rather than go to jail for non-payment.
Even if I got rid of my computer, mobile phone, vcr, dvd recorder & satellite receiver, I'd still have to pay the friggin TV fee, cos I got cable & a TV Ariel coming through the wall, which I'm not allowed to remove. Unbelievable!
If it was half the price, I could scrape enough to pay it... but.. can't afford all that.

The program & news editors in these broadcast organizations are cowards with no back bone for not reporting 'real' news. I did meet one TV news anchor woman a few years, ago, won't name her of course, but she told me that every aspect of their life is controlled, even when they are off work.

She said they have to follow a 'code of conduct' at all times.

The MEDIA hold the key to a revolution to free not only themselves from Tyranny, but all of us too. They're COWARDS!
