If there is no sign visible, you should be able to buy anything you want and as much as you want - I'd of complained higher up or at least threatened too if they didn't sell you the case outright. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 28689320 He's an old man and I didn't want to get him in trouble or risk him losing his job. We talk fishing when I'm there and it didn't seem right to threaten to complain to management (although in hindsight, it would have ben my right). I'm ok with what I got, but didn't seem right to say one thin one day and another tonight. I agree he shouldn't be making those decisions based on what had been established. At least he told me what time to be there to have a chance to buy ammo and now I can do some plinking. |

Still wish I coulda bought the whole case, but I guess as long as the gougers don't get it, it's all good. He said he's seen guys he's sold .22 LR to selling it for $22.00 a box. Making $14.00 off of others. I'll just wait on the odd stroke of luck and screw the gougers. |

Anonymous Coward (OP) User ID: 40205595 United States 05/22/2013 12:48 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Last time I bought 22 LR I paid $14.99 for 500 rounds. Of course this was over a year ago when it was readily available and on sale but no way would I pay $7 for 100 rounds of 22 LR unless I was completely out and my life depended on it. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 39233488 It's been so long since I've been able to buy any .22 LR that I just jumped on it. On the way home I realized it wasn't exactly cheap, remembering what I used to pay for 525 count boxes. |

I was wasn't buying at the prices they've been asking. [link to gunbot.net] |

Anonymous Coward (OP) User ID: 40205595 United States 05/22/2013 01:03 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Make friends with the dept manager. My local walmarts sporting goods dept manager always holds some ammo for me when it comes in. Then occasionally I buy him a gift card to a local restaurant. Quoting: MelvinKartinWeatherGenius That's kinda what I was thinking when I decided to not complain. After all he first said five boxes and then added a sixth and also told me what time to come in when the ammo is put out, so next step might be to ask him to save me some. I just wonder how many people ask that and if that gets old. How many people can you hold ammo for.... |

Anonymous Coward (OP) User ID: 40205595 United States 05/22/2013 03:56 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | i'd tell him he's in violation of new mexico law, and to show me to his manager, or give me the 10 boxes. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 16648993 Called the store manager today and she said I should have been sold the case as I wanted. She's going to talk to the sales clerk, see if there's any ammo left, and kept my number so that she can call me next time they have a case so I can buy what I should have been able to buy last night-the whole case as they had previously said is the law in N.M. ofno limits on purchases. I just hope the guy doesn't get fired. Thjat would be a bummer. It just festered all night that I felt screwed even out of being able to buy a lousy 10 boxes that I had to get with help from a friend. I'll update on what the manager says. |
Anonymous Coward (OP) User ID: 40205595 United States 05/22/2013 11:46 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I'll be really feeling warm and fuzzy if the manager comes through with her promised intention to let me but a whole case next time it arrives since I got screwed on this sale. She agrees I rightfully should have been allowed to do that right then and said she's going to have a talk with that sales clerk to make sure that doessn't happen again. There was no one else there looking for ammo and I asked the one guy that walked up if he was looking for .22 LR and he said he just needed a key made, so there was absolutly no reason to keep me from buying that case. That case will wave me feeling pretty good about being able to go plinking again and not just be sitting on my small store of ammo. 10 boxes just got me something to hold on to, not go shooting with. |

He said a guy with a floor buffer was fast approaching, so he casually walked off and left. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1890026 LOL |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 37954429 Denmark 05/24/2013 12:58 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I went to Walmart where I had been previously told that New Mexico law doesn't allow for limiting purchases, so they could not comply with the Walmart nationwide ammo limit per customer. They said the first guy in line when the ammo is put out can simply buy it all. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 40205595 Well I'm at the sporting good counter getting my fishing license when a stock clerk brings out some ammo. This after the sales guy said they weren't expecting any. At first they thought it was just 12 gauge and .40 cal, and I said too bad 'cause I was hoping for .22 LR. Well turned out there was a whole case of Winchester 40 grain copper plated 100 count .22LR in the stack! So based on what they told me before, I said I wanted the whole case. The sales clerk then said he had to save some for other customers????? I then said I'd like at least 10 boxes then as I hadn't been able to buy any for damn near a year now. As mentioned, I had the conversation on no limits in N.M. with him before and had said if there's a line of people, then they should apportion it out if only to prevent a fight if not simply to be fair. Well no line, I'm right there as it's being put out and I'd like to buy it all (the .22 lr that is), but no dice. He said I could have 5 boxes and then decided to make it six as he started to ring me up. So I got those six and scrambled to find a friend nearby to get at least four more before it sold out and mission accomplished on at least getting 10 boxes. Sorry for the long post, but I never though I'd see the day again that I'd be able to buyt .22 LR at Walmart. I just went to a gun show you could by ammo by the gross ton... so go to a gun show... |
