EMF and Speaker Magnets?

Okay, so I have this fairly cheesy EMF detector on my smartphone, no idea if it's accurate or BS. While trying to find the cause of some recent oddness at home, I used it to sweep the house, focusing on my wifi items & computers, tv, other cellphones, etc to see if there was a spike. There really wasn't. However, I noticed a near complete dead spot about 2ft in front of my speakers, which were off at the time. It dropped to about 5% of the baseline average I got everywhere else. Of course, if I got right up to the speakers, the thing went off the chart, about 3-400% higher than baseline. I have a lot of speakers, but only one design really exhibited this, they're triangular & have drivers on 2 of the 3 sides. Am I getting shielded in front of my speakers by some type of magnetic void 2ft out from the magnets?

Quoting: grumpier I dunno about that - I tried putting it waaay nearer to another speaker magnet I had disassembled & the thing jumped thousands of times higher. I'm beginning to suspect it has to with the 60 degree orientation of the two drivers in this design, but that's just a guess. However, I kind of debunk myself, too, as the void occurs in front of each single driver, not at the middle point between them. Stumped!

Quoting: Fret Wiz When I was younger and stupider, I had a bunch of 15" speakers with 100oz magnets, so I decided to line my box springs with them in boxes with my mattress on top of that. After a few days I realized that the headache I had was probably caused by sleeping in the magnetic fields.

I have no idea if the milligauss reading are correct at all (in fact the baseline I referred to was about 400 which seems crazy high & makes me agree with you), but it does behave as expected around known EMF sources, so I kinda trust it in a relative fashion. That's why I wanted to stick to percentages.

I haven't seen any secondary magnets on the drivers in question, but aside from re-foaming them, I have not been inside the spider or any other driver components.
