I can relate to parts of your story, I had prison warder parents who did everything they could to inflict psychological damage, it's all subtle stuff though, difficult to prove and to object to - they seemed like 'normal' people to the neighbours. Dad was a mason.

Did he have a small collection of occult/theosophy books available for you to browse? Mine did. Apart from that, I don't know much about it, cos they don't discuss it, so there's not much to say. Masons don't discuss politics or religion in the home.
