islam has been at war with itself since it began, but there is a significant difference, one explained to me by middle easterners, at the family level, its brother against brother, then at extended family, you unite, and its cousins against cousins, then at clan level, you unite and its family groups vs family groups, then at nation level clan unites and against other clans, the at supra national level nations of islam bicker and squabble, but when it comes to the rest of the world then the two great islamic divides will still bicker, but even they will unite when it comes to mecca(and some other issues)
