I was raised around pitbulls. I love the breed. Have never had a problem with any of the pits I have raised. They are some of the most loving dogs you can have. My chihuahua beats on my pits. Oh and yeah they do look badass, but that's not why I have them. I could care less what people think of me or my dogs. People are people, they will always find something to bitch about.

To the strereotypical point you made about "thug neighborhoods," where I live people own Rotts and Boxers. Those are the majority of the dog breeds around here. Also, my uncle is a con, and the dude owns Dobermans. So, uh, yeah.

I own a 100+ lb pit and a 30 lb miniature collie and the collie makes the pit bull her bitch and plays mom to her.
