For so long we've told addicts to smoke, drink, snort, etc less or just stop. As if they hasn't tried that already. Not until we looked at it like a disease did we create medicines and therapies to help. Food isn't that different than booze or tobacco. Also, when you tell an addict they have a disease they can stop blaming themselves and begin to heal. It might sound like crap but self deprecation greatly hinders change. Having a assumed or real scapegoat can draw some hate away from yourself to deal with your problem and improve your life. |
