They may not have an issue mobilizing their entire army but how will they get them here? I mean realistically getting that amount of people that far, while maintaining supply lines/etc. Look at Hitler, he did the same thing, strung himself out thin and lost his supply lines and bam lost the war. China has a massive navy, a massive air force, and good leaders with no issue mobilizing the entire military for a full scale invasion. To send their entire army to the USA would not be very difficult, as they would use logic to battle.

The USA has alot of anti air defence yes but the soldiers trained to use them have never actually fired them at planes who have already long launched their missiles out of range of the SAM sites. The USA army and Marines wont have much issue with the ground forces like i said, but only for about 2 weeks, as sooner or later the numbers of china like an ant hill will overwhelm the simple beatle that is the USA. India would never stand a chance againt china in open war, and i doubt they (the Chinese) would leave the homeland completely defenceless. the best way to beat the chinese is to dig in and hope to hell they run out of ammo and men before you do. America is quite powerful as an army, but not agaisnt such numbers.

China does not need to "take" any land from us...

They already "own" nearly half of our land through Corporations and small businesses run by Chinese owners.

My own boss, is Chinese. I work for a small local IT company. We only have 5 employee's including myself, and we offer a ton of IT solutions and services for our clients. However, even though the boss supposedly "owns" the business, we all know the truth.

The business is actually owned by a Chinese Holding Company, some big Bank, back in Shanghai. every year our boss takes a two week vacation to go back to China, to visit his family who is still there. His son who graduated from Chicago Northwestern with a Masters, got a high paying job in Shanghai, moved to there and took the job, then met a cute girl, got married and they just had their first baby so now my Boss is all excited about his next trip to China to meet his first grandchild....

BUT.

We all know the real truth about his trips back to China. He goes there to meet with his Chinese share holders at the bank, and to borrow more money from them, to keep the business here up and running for another year... because we all have known that for years, for at least the past 12 years he company has been operating "in the red" and the only reason we all still have our jobs is because of those Chinese investors and share holders back in Shanghai.

If they wanted too, they could cash-in, at any moment, and take over the company... and thus we would have an American Small Business, owned and operated by wealthy bankers in China.

So they don't need to take our land.

They already own most of it anyway, as well as most of our businesses.

The simple point of fact is that China lacks the logistical capability to deploy their hypothetical billions of troops.

They could literally cram them bow to stern on every cargo ship they have and still be unable to pull it off. Not to mention care and feeding of said billions, who are suddenly no longer productive for their population.

As to military strength, the reason we maintain a carrier FLEET (that word indicates many ships) is about force projection. The ability to deploy force rapidly (relatively speaking) and get boots on the ground as soon as possible in a meaningful way.

Now these fleets can be destroyed with one well placed underwater nuke.

The simple fact is that if the past is any indicator that any real amount of losses would simply be an impetus for the American war machine to kick up.

Say what you want about America - we're fat, lazy, undereducated, illiterate, whatever.

There's one thing history has proven we're exceptionally good at and don't think the Chinese don't realize it. Sure, people can point out wars like vietnam, but look at the difference in casualty levels.

Not to mention China has at best a military which has zero experience fighting a war. No one is denying their intellect, but the truth is America has literally never gone a decade without war. The longest stretch was 5 years in the 1930's.

Couple that with an armed populace that's got more hunters than most nations have standing armies, it's not a pretty proposition for ANY nation, even china.



*** so why do it? ***

China has a lot of reasons to start a war with the US. If one was fought, it would likely be a MULTI GENERATIONAL WAR SPANNING DECADES. I can't understate that enough. Imagine if California became the gaza strip. Or Alaska was suddenly the west bank.

So those reasons:
1) Money. At some point, they're going to want us to pay the piper. We owe them a lot of money and they know it. If we default or hyperinflate, they stand to lose trillions.
2) A big head. Chinese are surging in nationalism at this time; it's not a smart reason but definitely a contributing factor.
3) Lebensraum. This was the excuse hitler used to launch war in WWII; the need for 'living space'. This living space is basically saying they need the land for their people. After all they have a massively swelling population.
4) Which brings me to my next point: Some actually believe America belongs to them. Due to the link between native american people and Asians on a genetic level, they believe that they were the original colonists of America and as such it belongs to them.
5) Leverage; no one likes being beholden to anyone. Right now the biggest weapon America has isn't money or guns. It's food. And make no mistake - food is the most powerful superweapon of them all.
6) The ability to inflict damage on Japan. If a war broke out between the US and China, Japan would be one of the first places struck by the Chinese. The rape of nanking will not be something they forget for the next 1000 years.
7) They've been preparing for it. Simply put it's pretty obvious they have made preparations to hurt America in particular. They bug our electronics, steal our secrets, hack our networks, slam our policies, are constantly confrontational with us in international meetings, and have been building a growing war-fleet replete with subs.

*** How would it go down? ***

The game world in conflict lays out a good scenario, with them using container ships to deploy on the west coast.

They would likely start via a small scale brushfire in the south china sea. Maybe even over the Senkaku islands.

They'd start cutting their teeth while testing the resolve of our relationships with south korea, japan, and taiwan.

At that point... they'd probably try to establish beachheads on the west coast and alaska. However in a real world scenario low yield tactical nukes, emp strikes, and hacking would all happen simultaneously. The nukes would target key military installations, factories, and government buildings.

At that point once the initial surprise was lost, there'd be retaliatory strikes by the US. A battle line would form, most likely at or near the rocky mountains where passes could be easily held by local units.

From there begins the multi-decade war over territory.

The internet has been full of reports, sightings and rumors of oriental troops south of the Texas and southwestern US for many years. Google or Startpage. Some are bs but others seem to have a bit of truth.

The administration has been very strange about keeping the Mexican borders wide open while at the same time promoting the terrorist fable. Recently border staff have been basically laid off because of budget cuts?

Stories of crazy drug cartels fuel the fear of staying away from the border. Apparently works. Curious eyes have not ventured. Strange out of season flu pandemics also have kept people away as well. Well, you'd be right except for one thing. Seven billion assholes on one planet with finite resources. Eventually, it all shifts, and does so rapidly.
