Why does NASA fake images of Antarctica (and generally of the Earth) supposedly taken from space? | |

I was looking for photos of Antarctica as seen from space, and couldn't find anything. Quoting: spacey The available 'photos' look very much like paintings or drawings and completely unrealistic. It is clear they are not photos, let alone taken from space. Google Earth also doesn't show anything - just a small part of the coastline. They don't provide you with a satellite view map of Antarctica, as if it is forbidden to take photos of it or something! It is clear they are hiding something, otherwise why the secrecy? They don't want us moving there, they want it to be owned by the various governments for resources |

Look at the following image provided by NASA. [link to eoimages.gsfc.nasa.gov] How exactly is Antarctica twice bigger than Australia in that picture? Bear in mind that Australia is not in the center of the composition, but nevertheless it still has almost the same size. In reality, Antarctica should be twice bigger! On top of that how come they took a photo of the Earth from space where you can distinguish the outlines of the continents while the surface is clearly not lit by the Sun? The artist they hired didn't even do his job well. |

Well, fortunately people have eyes and you don't need to do some fancy research to prove that. It is obvious to anyone(with eyes) who looks at the images that they are not photos but some artistic rendition at best. The question is why? |

On top of that how come they took a photo of the Earth from space on which you can distinguish the outlines of the continents while the surface is clearly not lit by the Sun? How do we see it then? The artist they hired didn't even do his job well. If NASA really had any shuttle or space station in space they would certainly be able to produce much better quality photos and videos. We would certainly be able to see plenty of genuine Antarctica photos and nice authentic videos of Earth spinning (if it really does). However, they don't show anything convincing, just some pictures which look like CGI or artist drawings. Why is it so difficult to have live stream videos from space? Look what NASA says on its website: [link to www.nasa.gov] "Live Space Station Video includes internal views from cameras in the International Space Station's Destiny Laboratory and Harmony module when the resident astronauts are on duty. Earth views from external cameras on the station's structure will be available during crew off-duty periods." So basically the external cameras cannot be left without supervision and only when the crew is off duty we can possibly see anything from outside the station? This is really outrageous. We live in the 21st century where everyone has a camera on their phone, but we cannot see live stream or good videos from outside the space station 24/7 or at least on a regular basis? Why is that. What is there to hide that the crew needs to be off duty to monitor the cameras? :) What exactly is the crew busy with? They have plenty of time. Oh and by the way the so-called images from space are not even from space. You can't call an 'image' even if authentic from an altitude of 200 km a photo from space. This is a joke. Earth has a circumference of 24,901.55 miles (40,075.16 kilometers)at the equator, so being 200 km in the sky doesn't qualify for being in space. So where are the real space images? Or the only thing close to real they can provide is from an altitude of 200 km? Last Edited by sorp on 07/12/2013 12:52 PM |

Good website, but unfortunately didn't see anything that looks like photos from space. These are just images taken from a high altitude of around 300 km. I am really impressed! And once again no photos of Antarctica just some vague fragments and lots and lots of clouds :) I challenge you to browse through the photos supposedly taken from space and then tell me if they look real, but honestly. First, they vary a lot as if it is not the same Earth sometimes;second the colors seem totally off. On some the whole Earth is covered in clouds and on others as if it has no atmosphere whatsoever. It is clear most are artistic renditions and the rest are CGI. I am talking about the images from 'space' and not some upper stratosphere/ionosphere images. My point is NASA fakes everything that is supposedly from space, the only real images we see are from maximum 400 km or so. The Moon is 384,400 km away, so do the math...from 400 km you can't see a whole continent. |

It should be only about twice the size of Australia. Look at the picture in the lower right corner it says "Imagery 2013 NASA" ridiculous... One would almost think the flat earthers are right and Antarctica actually surrounds the flat disc of Earth and is not a continent. |
