Anonymous Coward User ID: 1201648 United States 07/14/2013 05:30 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | It's strange how people from the same places have different attitudes towards the same places, like In that episode of market values where he goes o thailand he's speaking to someone from Belgium who lives there and he's was saying it's so much better living here than in Europe I would rather live here than anywhere in Europe. I wonder what gives people vastly different perceptions of places? Wong question GI. Someone's pulling the strings. Remember remember the fifth of September. |

Do a search for any number of foreigners arrested in Thailand. The embassies can't help you. And you'll be forced to sign confessions in Thai! |

They ALL know the reason why you are going there, and all I can say is, when there are too many unwanted farangs there who are only after Thai pussy, something is gonna break....and it won't be good. This is only normal (human and animal) behavior. We are all territorial creatures. |

Not one American I knew has been arrested. If you go there only for beautiful girls you will be dissapointed. Go there for the nature and ease of living, let the pretty girls be the side effect. |

Sorry, I have no desire in handing my life over to a corrupt 3rd world judicial system. |

The food is by far the best in the world and much better living in comparison to the United States. Very safe and extremely hospitable. The article does need more information but it does state more is coming. |

It was a big muscular guy that got into a bar fight with a small Thai guy, long story short, I believed he got a small punishment. What didn't happen was that he got tazed and shot in the head for an altercation, much like what happens in the the police state called Amerika. |

You can rent a two room bungalow with full bath and kitchen for about $125 per month. Food costs about a buck per mealif you eat out every meal. You can rent a scooter for 3 to 5 dollars a day. The women are friendly and the government pretty much leave you alone.... You can stay for 30 days without getting a visa or you can get a tourist visa for 90 days prior to coming. yearly visa can be had for business, marriage, retirement (over 50), and students. I would however stay out of south Thailand. The north is much nicer and cooler. Without all the tourist bullshit talkstory |

The article does need more information but it does state more is coming. I've been there, and I'm going back. I agree with this post. People are very nice, but like people anywhere, they like it if you respect them and their place. And food is the best in the world, esp if you like spicy. Only other Asian country I've been to is India, which I loved, but it's chaos in the cities. While Bangkok is kind of a mess, the basic infrastructure in Thailand is closer to Germany than India. Some people in this thread seem to worry about the corruption. Well, don't blatantly break their laws, simple. Thais are smaller than Americans and Europeans, but don't assume they're children. Mess with them and you'll regret it. |

But the food you mentioned in the above post, is rare. Most thai's eat a lot of chicken, pork, rice with a variety of vegetables. Fruit is also abundant year round, which I really enjoy. talkstory |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 43263573 Germany 07/14/2013 08:15 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | The food is delicious and healthy in Thailand, the best of any kind. Most of the meals is usually some chicken, pork or beef with some rice like the other poster said. Thailand caters to the nature types or the city dwellers, and I for one can't wait to go back there as this article has served some motivation for me. |
