Amfikleia is very near to the Atalanti rift which gives awful earthquakes.

Its all that grecian food.

I have some relatives near a village in Amfikleia and the shaking was so great that they got out of their houses!

Yeap, I remember dude! I even remember from 1981 although I was a 2 years old kid then! My parents saying that I was actually crying seconds before the earthquake for no reason and at the same time all the dogs in the neighborhood would go nuts!

It was actually bigger, but the Greek authorities reported it as a smaller one in order to not pay any compensations (they pay only if an earthquake is bigger than 6R). They were the only ones to register it about 1R less than it was and imagine that Richter scale is logarithmic. What to expect from fucking politicians...

Yep, it was actually around 7R, still people died because of faulty building constrauctions (Rikomex, Kotsovolos etc.)

The problem is that it is near the Atalanti rift which gives devastating earthquakes since it is actually a surface one. That would cause a tsunami in the Northern Euboean gulf that would destroy everything in that region.
